Blouberg - the talking,
eating, drinking, laughing, singing, sharing wine...
Blouberg is a wine with a difference - in both taste and
personality. Blouberg is a friendly, exuberant wine. It has warmth, charm,
a "cheeky" personality and a continental image. The blend appeals to both
occasional and knowledgeable drinkers. The brand suits a fun-loving, outgoing
lifestyle.
Conveniently packaged in both 750ml and 375ml (the Bambino), Blouberg
can be enjoyed either when dining with friends at a restaurant or alone
at home. Blouberg is packaged in a most unusual bottle and label, reminiscent
of imported wines. The packaging has an upmarket presence with a difference.
Blouberg
Blouberg, which takes its name from the famously blue-tinged mountains
of the Cape, is an informal, fun and versatile companion to foods
of all kinds. Like the mountain itself, it provides shelter, entertainment
and enjoyment.
Styled as an easy-drinking, quaffing wine inspired by the famous
Portuguese vinho verde, it is a talking, eating, drinking, laughing,
singing, and above all, sharing wine. Blouberg, which has a slight
petillance, is made from a blend of sauvignon blanc (60%), semillion
(20%) and Cape riesling (20%) sourced from vineyards throughout
the Western Cape.
Winemaker Louw Engelbrecht describes it as lively-coloured with
flashes of green, a touch of asparagus on the nose and crisp, lemony,
off-dry flavours. Its petillance gives it a palate-tingling lift
and ensures its enjoyment with a range of foods from pizzas and
pastas to fish, shellfish, poultry and cream-based dishes and cheeses.
Blouberg Red
Deep Red with violet hue, Blouberg Red has a delightful fruit driven
nose compiled of sweet plums, ripe strawberries, red berries and
a touch of spice. A well-structured medium bodied wine with strawberry
and plum flavours, the tannin is soft and subtle and the wine has
a fruity finish. Blourberg Red is an approachable young wine with
character that could be enjoyed now or next year.

Blouberg Rosé
Blouberg Rosé is a light off-dry wine, rich in colour, fruity
in taste with a slight petillance and earthy presence. Like Blouberg,
Blouberg Rosé is a friendly, exuberant, cheeky, no-nonsense
wine. Ideal for seafood, pasta, vegetarian dishes and light lunches.

This wine has a vegetal character, but tropical fruit
flavors are just as dominant. Intense flavors and aromas, lively acidity
and a warm finish make this an ideal match for oily foods. Imported by
Dreyfus, Ashby & Co.

This ruby-red wine has a lot to offer. It offers vanilla,
spice, Maraschino cherry and cola in the nose, while the palate is packed
with more cherry, vanilla, a mild minerality and some lemon notes. It
finishes smooth, with coffee and spice. Imported by Dreyfus, Ashby &
Co.

On the nose, plum and juicy berry are joined by cocoa
powder and vanilla. With ir, grilled meat aromas emerge. The palate starts
out a bit sweet with vanilla, but quickly picks up fruit, spice and charred
meat notes. All this in a package that is soft without being simple.
